“In the earliest Sumerian writings, the Anunnaki were a group of deities who lived on the planet Nibiru. Nibiru collided catastrophically with Tiamat, located between Mars and Jupiter. Tiamat split in two. Nibiru struck one part on a second pass, which became the asteroid belt. The other part was pushed into a new orbit, which became the Earth. Nibiru swings by our Earth every 3,600 years giving the Anunnaki their only chance to communicate across vast distances.”

Wenyin Jiang created kinetic jewellery for Anunnaki to communicate the vase distance. Every piece of glass jewellery is a communication device making physical sounds. Sound is a medium which can overcome distance. By overcoming distance, we overcome difference.

NASHI is part of the NIBIRU collection which embeds physical sound to stimulate wearers’ multisensory perceptions. It also highlights the aesthetic of balance, movements, and gravity. The artist meticulously handcrafted each piece, featuring borosilicate glass processed with diamond tools and carefully crafted metal parts.
