Ippolita and Will Cotton for Brooklyn Museum

Art. 111

Ippolita has debuted a new capsule collection in collaboration with the Brooklyn Museum as part of its Artist Charms series—which features limited-edition charms designed by Ippolita in conjunction with renowned contemporary artists.

After Nick Cave and Deborah Kass, now it's Will Cotton the artist choosen.

His art makes use of the common language of consumer culture shared across geographical boundaries. His work primarily features landscapes composed of sweets, often inhabited by human subjects, directly referencing visual modes aimed at evoking desire.

Backdrops of cakes and marshmallows in paintings where cowboys ride unicorns, Ippolita created a series of candy-motif pieces boasting colorful gumdrops and peppermints.

There’s a whimsical Gum Drop charm necklace with four glass and ceramic charms with 18k yellow gold rings and an 18k gold charm holder; four simple glass gumdrop rings in bluegreen, yellow, and red set atop a thin 18k gold band; a limited-edition 18k gold and ceramic peppermint ring and an 18k gold and diamond pavéd Gumdrop ring.

All the charms in the series are being sold on-site at the museum and online on Ippolita’s site. Fifty percent of proceeds from the sales of the jewelry benefits the Brooklyn Museum.
