TANDACUCHA

This brooch, entirely handmade in silver with gold applique using the keum boo technique and labradorite, is inspired by the moths known in Quito as “Tandacuchas” or “butterfly of death.” Its design captures the mystical essence of this insect, reflecting its intimidating beauty and mysterious symbolism, reinterpreted under the artistic influences of the “Barroco Quiteño.”
