Appose

Appose’ mask was created as the second mask in a series and addresses the dual functionality of masks. He drew inspiration from the head of an axe and how it can serve as both a tool and a weapon. To contrast this hard dividing edge he decided to give the rest of the mask a more organic texture almost to connote flayed or exposed flesh. The mask is also an experiment in how small changes to directional lighting can greatly change how the mask is seen.
