Phillips has announced highlights from the forthcoming New York Jewels Auction, taking place on 13 December, 2024, at its New York headquarters. Featuring an extraordinary selection of rare and exquisite pieces from renowned makers, fancy colored and colorless diamonds, vibrant colored gemstones, and iconic signed jewels, the sale promises to captivate collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Our top lot, an Impressive Fancy Yellow Diamond Ring with an old European brilliant-cut diamond weighing more than 43 carats, is a striking example.”
IMPORTANT MAKERS
Among the highlights are remarkable pieces by important makers. The transformable René Boivin Aquamarine Demi-Parure, circa 1950, was designed by Juliette Moutard and features a necklace centering a large step-cut aquamarine further enhanced by baguette-cut aquamarines. The central pendant can be removed and worn as a brooch, the necklace shortened and worn as a bracelet; together with a pair of matching earrings. Other highlights include a pair of Suzanne Belperron Dress Clips of trefoil design set with pavé diamonds, circa 1945, and a stunning Jean Schlumberger Tortoiseshell, Coral, and Diamond Clip-Brooch, circa 1956, occurring in this same year when Schlumberger commenced his legendary partnership with Tiffany & Co.
The Colored Gemstones category boasts an impressive array of vibrant and rare stones. Highlights include an unmounted Kashmir Sapphire, weighing 3.43 carats respectively, certified by SSEF and AGL, both stating Kashmir origin and no evidence of heat treatment; the SSEF stating Royal Blue color. Another standout is a Paraiba Tourmaline and Diamond Ring, featuring a 10.11 carat oval-shaped Paraiba tourmaline of Brazilian origin, with exceptional color. The stone is heat treated but with no further clarity enhancement. Additional highlights include an Important Emerald and Diamond Ring with a 3.79 carat step-cut emerald of Colombian origin with no clarity enhancement and a Sapphire and Diamond Ring. The beautiful, elongated cushion-shaped sapphire is of Ceylon origin weighing 31.20 carats.
DIAMONDS
Among the highlights in the Diamonds category is an Impressive Fancy Yellow Diamond Ring, featuring an old European brilliant-cut diamond weighing 43.15 carats with VS2 clarity, crowned in a beautiful diamond mounting, as well as a Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Toi et Moi Ring with one pear-shaped brilliant-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond weighing 3.61 carats and a second with D color weighing 5.03 carats—both diamonds are Internally Flawless. Further exceptional examples of colored diamonds in the sale include a Fancy Intense Green Diamond Ring—oval-shaped, brilliant-cut, and weighing over 2 carats, and an Unmounted Fancy Purple-Pink Diamond weighing 1.63 carats.
