My name is Olesya. I am 58 years old and I make jewelry. In 2019, I was introduced to metal clay, and since then, I cannot stop thinking about the wide range of possibilities this material might give.

I have no special education in jewelry, I completed two courses at METALCLAYSTUDIO based in Moscow and I have been dealing with metal clay for two years now. Despite that, I have a lot of ideas and a great desire to bring them to life.

My jewelry is all about style, a style of a big city with its speed, motion, desire of getting noticed among a huge variety of faces and all other individuals. Those pieces of work are, like the city itself, sometimes rough with an uneven surface, like a hastily painted wall in a building entrance, or straight and sharp, like the corners of office centers, or soft and rounded, like historical monuments, or torn and disruptive, like abandoned buildings, or funny just like kids playgrounds.

I make almost all jewelry with bronze. Why bronze? At the dawn of mankind, when gold and silver were not a measure of value or wellbeing, when people fought for their survival, when valor and strength were the priority, when a tool of labor was valued more than a shiny pebble, human race came up with an idea to combine two components: copper and tin, what resulted in creation of bronze, which was the helper to humans during peaceful times, during battles, in beauty, and for thousand years it represented the civilization cultures.

Through the creation of my jewelry I want to pay tribute to this amazingly wise and truly aristocratic material.
